Did you know, in Icelandic folklore, there are 13 mischievous Santas – or Yule Lads – who each pay a visit to cause chaos during the run up to Christmas!
This series of illustrations of the Icelandic Yule Lads was produced for Reykjavik-based tour guide service, Your Friend In Reykjavik.
The original illustrations were done in ink, but then scanned and coloured digitally. I had planned to colour them using water-based inks, but time was of the essence, as they were due to be used in a live-streamed walking tour of Reykjavik in early December 2021.
